Attendant Care

The Attendant Care Program provides personal assistance support to people with a physical disability to live as independently as possible to prevent their premature admission to long-term and restrictive institutional environments. Up to 35 hours a week of personal assistance can be provided to help individuals with tasks of personal hygiene and domestic chores as well as participation within their community.

The program is designed to support individuals to:

• maintain independence in their own home and the community
  
  
• direct and supervise their service and identify their needs
  
  
• maintain their health care needs and maintain family and social networks

The Attendant Care Program is funded through the Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care (DADHC).
